The Four Charities We Are Responsible For


BRADNINCH TOWN TRUST

Bradninch Town Trust was created on 5th March 1889 with 9 trustees. Four of the trustees are appointed by Bradninch Town Council with the remaining five being co-opted by the whole of the Trustee Board.


Bradninch Town Trust was created to take over and administer the assets of the former Borough of Bradninch, which had been dissolved by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1883.


Bradninch Town Trust holds property: The Guildhall, Bussell's Orchard (land behind the Guildhall) and a house, which is rented out.


Resources of Bradninch Town Trust are to be used to maintain its properties and any excess funds for the public benefit of the people of Bradninch.




BRADNINCH PAROCHIAL CHARITIES

There were several old charities (some dating from the 17th century) which had been administered by the Mayor and Corporation of the Borough. These were collected together and placed under a new charity called The Bradninch Parochial Charities.


This new charity was created on 7th November 1893, the trustees to be the same as those of Bradninch Town Trust.


Bradninch Parochial Charities holds two houses and four fields, all of which are rented out to local people.


Resources of Bradninch Parochial Charities are to be used for a variety of purposes including “Relief for the sick and poor” of Bradninch in addition to the upkeep of its properties and others owned by Bradninch Town Trust.

These two educational foundations with modest funds are used to give grants to young people for educational purposes.
